London and Doha – The Guardian newspaper of Britain and Qatar’s Al Jazeera news service today released 1,600 documents relating to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The documents reveal the divisions, the problems and the stumbling blocks littering the road to peace in the middle east between 1999 and 2010.
How the Papers Were Leaked
No, the source of the document leak does not lie with WikiLeaks. Instead the documents came into the hands of Al Jazeera. The Qatari news agency then decided to share the documents exclusively with Britain’s The Guardian. Though, the resulting disclosures are being reported across the world including on the Huffington Post.
The majority of documents leaked belong to the Palestinian negotiation support unit or NSU. The NSU is funded by the Adam Smith Institute with British government support. The rest of the documents belong to the Palestinian Authority or PA’s security services which are heavily sponsored by Britain and America.
